The Office of the Auditor General

The Office of the Auditor General of South West State provides independent audit oversight that strengthens financial governance and ensures responsible use of public resources. The Office examines the financial statements, operations and internal controls of public institutions and reports its findings to Parliament to support accountability and transparency in government.

The Office promotes improved service delivery and institutional performance through clear, evidence-based recommendations that guide corrective action across ministries, departments and agencies. Its work reinforces public confidence, supports effective public financial management and contributes to sustainable development across South West State.

Our Core Functions

The Office of the Auditor General of South West State provides independent oversight that strengthens accountability in the management of public resources. The Office conducts financial, compliance and performance audits to assess whether public institutions operate in line with laws, regulations and sound financial practices.

The Office evaluates internal controls, examines the use of public funds and issues clear recommendations that help ministries, departments and agencies improve service delivery and governance. Through this work, the OAG supports Parliament, promotes transparency and contributes to stronger and more efficient public institutions.
